The swimming pool’s pump basket cover (hayward) has warped/leaked after 3x replacement. What’s the cause?
When the pre-pump filter basked cover (hayward) leaked on the first occassion, we changed the cover and o-ring and lubricant. After a few hours it leaked again and we could not get a seal so we replaced the basket assembley and once again could not create a seal. So we replaced the cover/ring/lube again and watched for signs of heat buildup and there was none. Yet, after a few hours the cover warped/leaked again. So on and so forth and we are seeking help in finding the cause so we can fix the problem.
If the sand has hardened it won’t increase suction pressure, it will create a bit of back pressure into the pump but this won’t cause the problem you’re encountering.
It sounds like you have a serious problem with the water chemistry, have excessive heat build up at the basket assembly, possibly have a bearing going out in the pump motor, or have excessive physical pressure on the fittings pulling the basket assembly out of shape.
